CVUUF LIBRARY

The Collection
The CVUUF Library collection has grown to over 1500 books and other materials since its opening in May 1996. For visitors, the library introduces UU history and thought and demonstrates our diversity of ideas on spirituality by the breadth of the topics covered including major religions, humanism, paganism, and atheism. For members and friends, the library provides in-depth information on UU history and ideas, spiritual reading for life enhancement, books on parenting with a UU approach, tapes or CDs of sermons going back to 1994, a place to share books and materials that have been helpful in our spiritual journey, information on church administration, and readings for worship services and other gatherings.

Borrowing Materials
Library materials may be borrowed by anyone on the Fellowship Directory or who has attended three times consecutively. Visitors may borrow the UU World. If a member checks out materials for a visitor, the member is responsible for that material. Books may be borrowed from the CVUUF Office library using the sign out sheet. Books may also be borrowed from the Library Table on Sundays. Items may be reserved by calling or e-mailing the librarian, Sylvia Flores Johnson.

Loans on most materials are for one month. Sermon tapes and CDs and Hymnals may be borrowed for one week. Hymnals must be returned by the following Sunday for use in the Sunday Service.

Access
There are two catalogs of the CVUUF Library collection, one is available on Sundays at the Library Table and the other is at the CVUUF Office under the sign up sheet. Listings are by call number and title. There is also an online catalog with keyword access located at the CVUUF library web page.

Bookstore
There are a small number of titles available for purchase. CDs of services, particularly musical ones, and audio tapes of sermons are available for a $3.00 donation. Proceeds go to the library fund.
