The Hand that Rocks the Cradle
Rev. Lora Brandis
“The Hand That Rocks The Cradle Is The Hand That Rules The World” is a poem written in 1865 in praise of motherhood. It has also become an often-quoted phrase and part of our common language. Yet, nearly 150 years after this poem was written, women worldwide struggle for healthcare, education and economic empowerment. Today we celebrate women, mothers and mothering. A child dedication will be held at the 9:15 service.

predation with goodness. Humanity is not as important as we may believe, but that Life is
eager for us to share our intelligence.
